John Pleimann is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He worked for eight years as an advertising copywriter before becoming an English professor at Jefferson College where he taught courses in American literature, creative writing, and world mythology. When he is not working words, he studies bluegrass, blues, and jazz guitar and spends much time hiking in the Rocky Mountains and the streets of New York City.
He holds an MFA degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. His poems have appeared in numerous journals including The Gettysburg Review, The Antioch Review, Poetry Daily, Natural Bridge, The Atlanta Review, The Evansville Review, and The Connecticut Review.
