Bonnie Naradzay has, for many years, led weekly poetry sessions in downtown Washington, DC, and she has taught poetry in the DC Women’s Jail. Some of her poems include those experiences. After retiring from the federal government, she earned a master’s degree from the Graduate Institute of St. John’s College in Annapolis. Since then, she has led discussion groups as part of The Catherine Project, including a series on Gilgamesh and on Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey.

In 2010, she was awarded the University of New Orleans Poetry Prize—a month’s stay in Northern Italy—in the South Tyrol castle of Ezra Pound’s daughter Mary. While there, she had tea with Mary, read Pound’s translations, and explored the Dolomites. This is her debut collection of poems. Her poems, including some Rilke translations, have appeared in publications such as Agni, New Letters, Birmingham Poetry Review, Cumberland River Review, Cider Press Review, Crab Creek Review, Dappled Things, RHINO, and Kenyon Review Online, and have been included in several anthologies.
